A baby is born with a need to be loved- and never outgrows it

What is Newborn Care?

Newborn care is medical care to support a baby’s health, safety, and development in the first few months of life. It also includes care regarding feeding, bathing, sleeping, and overall wellbeing of the baby. Newborn care involves regular doctor visits, and counseling regarding common concerns such as diaper rash and feeding difficulties. Another important component of newborn care is supporting parents and evaluating their needs.

How Long Will My Baby Need Routine Care for?

Newborn routine care starts shortly after birth. Wellness visits continue throughout infancy and childhood to keep your child healthy and growing. In the first year, your baby will need several visits, starting within the first week of life, then every month or so (at 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months of age). These visits allow your Happy Kids Pediatrician to check growth, monitor development, and address any concerns. After infancy, regular visits are still important, annual visits (adolescent care) are recommended for older children to keep them healthy and happy.
